The Nursery School
The Nursery School (or "Maternelle") at the Ecole Française de Bristol will provide total immersion in French whilst promoting your children's personal development. Attending the Nursery School and then the Primary French Classes will be the best way to guarantee your children will become bilingual in all aspects of the language.
The Nursery School bases its activities on active games in a French environment. The teacher stimulates the children's desire to learn and varies experiences. She will motivate them to develop their understanding and speaking in French.
All activities are designed to suit your children's individual needs. Parents have found that the French school is a very wholesome environment that prepares well for the British Primary School.
Children from the age of 2½ to 5 attend the school for 4 days per week. Classes are all in small groups, lead by a native qualified teacher and by a full time nursery assistant.
The Nursery School is OFSTED registered and homologated by the French Ministry of Education. It follows French and English learning objectives set by the relevant Education Ministers.
Children aged 3 or more are entitled to the state grant from the term that follows their third birthday.
